Device driver for power supply

sarifkin
I've been thinking that it would be nice if I could switch the power to my light source off via micromanager when an overnight run is done so as to save a few hours of bulb life before someone comes in the morning.  Does anyone have any suggestions for a device that could do this - essentially just shutting off a 110 circuit - that micromanager might have a driver to?

Thanks for any leads,
Scott

An Arduino board driving a solid state relay should easily do the job.

This one should do the job as a solid state relay:

Fun project!

These are even available at Radio Shack now.
