Leica / Baumer Optronic camera support available in nightly build.

Hoover, Karl
Hi Thomas,

I found one problem when running live mode, then changing bit depth, then running live mode again. That problem is fixed in today's build. The system is definitely useable with this 8 / 12 bit camera I've got. I wonder how it is working for other people??

There is also an unresolved issue occurring after the user re-loads the hardware configuration. I wonder if that the is problem are encountering? Could you send me separately the corelog from this incident?

Best Regards,
Karl Hoover

Hi Thomas,

I've only got a DFC 345 FX here. I haven't seen any crash like that upon configuring this camera.

Karl

Hello Karl,

I've just tried the nightly build you've mentioned and also the latest one.
With both versions  ┬ÁManager crashes after step 4 in the hardware
configuration wizard. I've already had a look at the log file, but this is
empty.

Following our hard and software setup in order to provide some useful
information:

Camera: Leica DC350F (HotLink Interface) with the latest driver (DC Twain
V5.1.10)
The Baumer Optotronics Interface shows a Leica PCI-42 device with the driver
version 1.80.0.0. The driver is boifcdrv.sys with file version 1.03.101.
There is also the Baumer SDK 5.0 installed and the camera works fine with
that.

I hope that our hard and software is suitable for your interface.

Best regards,
Thomas Gruber

Hi Karl,

I can't even successfully complete the configuration wizard. Tomorrow I will try again the latest build and then I can send you the corelog.

I think that the main problem is the pci-camera interface we are using in our lab. The Baumer interface card is quite old and it uses a Hotlink interface (looks like an ethernet plug) and not firewire as your camera (Correct my if I'm wrong). So it could be possible that we are talking about totally different systems. I can't even find information about our pci card at the Baumer homepage.

Best Regards,
Thomas Gruber

Hi Karl,

now I have access to a Leica DCF340FX camera (forerunner of your 345). I can confirm the problem by reloading the user configuration (I always use the nightly builds). Mircromanger tells me that the camera is aquiring images. It is a little bit annoying, but not a big deal.

The main reason why im posting is a problem that I mentioned when I want to aquire fluorescent images. Even when the fluorescence is really strong, it is not possible to get good pictures. Of course I tried long exposure times and binning. Then I had the idea to try the twain interface and with that I get perfect pictures. So it seems that the Baumer interface "absorbs" intensity. Any idea?

Thomas Gruber
