Mad City Labs nano drive adapter bug

pforsche
We noticed that the Mad City Labs XY micro drive and nano Z stage device adapters no longer work after the Jan 31st release  of  MM (either 32 or 64 bit versions). The errors thrown n our 64 bit system during configuration are shown belwo. Please advise.

Thank you,

Re: Mad City Labs nano drive adapter bug

Hadrien Mary

Any news here? We would like to acquire a Nanodrive Z controller to work with Nikon inverted wide field microscop.

Thank you for asking - I failed to update this list about this.

The issue turned out to be a version mismatch between the MCL driver and
the Micro-Manager device adapter.

There is now a note on the wiki page indicating the necessary driver
version: https://micro-manager.org/wiki/MCL_NanoDrive

The "1.4.16 and later" should still apply to 1.4.18 and current
nightlies.

Best,
Mark

We are having the same trouble getting the the MCL NanoDrive device adapter
in MM 2.0 (64 bit Win 10 OS). I looked at the "wiki page indicating the
necessary driver version: https://micro-manager.org/wiki/MCL_NanoDrive" you
mention and did not see an obvious fix. What am I missing here?

Is this trouble again an invalid driver version?

I assume (but going out of a limb here), that the binary code included
in the MCL_NanoDrive deviceadapter is looking for a specific driver
version.  I do not know what version that is (it is really best to ask
Mad City Labs, as this is their code), but I can see that the library
code was last updated 2017-06-02, so if you can find a driver with a
slightly earlier date, you could see if that one matches.

All MM versions since that date will have the same issue.  Once someone
figures this out, it would be really nice to update the website.

Best,

Nico

Re: Mad City Labs nano drive adapter bug

Problem solved: need to update MCL device drivers for Nano and Micro drives.
The old versions using Jungo WinDriver for USB communications is obsolete.
New drivers can be obtained from MCL by FTP upon request with a valid device
serial number.

I am now running MM 2.0 Gamma under Win 10/64 on a pretty complex system
without errors.
