Matlab wrapper for Micro-manager?

Thorn, Kurt
Hi All -

I'm working on a project where we're going to be doing extensive control
of micro-manager through Matlab.  Rather than just making direct
Micro-manager API calls, I'd like to build a wrapper around
micro-manager so that we have a simple set of Matlab functions or a
Matlab object we can interact with to do routine operations.  Before I
start developing such a wrapper I figured I would ask if anyone has
written one before - I'd rather not reinvent the wheel if I don't have to.

Thanks,
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

I do not know if it can apply, but there is a series of function in Fiji
(ImageJ) made to facilitate interactions between the two. Micro-manager
uses ImageJ; however I am not familiar enough with micro-manager to be
sure that they can be re-used. Here are some links for you to investigate:

MIJ was developed by Daniel Sage and others:

And ported to Fiji with facilities to automate launching:

We wrote some demos for the MATLAB community to discover us:

Hope it is of use!
Cheers
