Need help to get my The Imaging Source USB camera working in MM

tomrunia
Hello everybody!

I am trying to get my "The Imaging Source" USB-camera to work in MM (the model number is DMK 41BU02.H)

The camera is listed on the devices page, so I followed the instructions listed there: http://valelab.ucsf.edu/~MM/MMwiki/index.php/The_Imaging_Source

My setup is the following:

Windows 7 x64
MicroManager 1.44
IC Imaging Control 3.2

I downloaded Imaging Control 3.2 from the url mentioned on the Wiki (above). After installing it, I got multiple dll files which look like the ones listed (TIS_UDSHL08_vc9.dll and TIS_DShowLib08.dll)
I have got 32 and 64 bit versions of those files, they are located in:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\IC Imaging Control 3.2\bin\Win32
C:\Program Files\Common Files\IC Imaging Control 3.2\bin\v4.0.30319 (also version v2.0.50727)

I have tried adding both of those locations to the Windows PATH variable, but I can get the camera to work in MM.
When I select a TIScam in the Hardware Configuration Wizard, it keeps saying:

"The specific module could not be found.
TIScam
Unable to load library: files not accessible or corrupted."

Does anyone know which dll-files (32/64 bit, and what version) I have to add to my PATH variable, and how to get my camera working?

Any help would be appreciated!

gr,

Tom

Hi Tom,

I am sorry for getting back to you so late but I have been working on your issue and found a solution for you. Here is what I would recommend you to try:
1) Download either the Micro-Manager 32-bit or 64-bit nightly download, lets say you downloaded the 64-bit or use your current if you would like.
2) Look in the directory for IC Imaging Control 3.2 > classlib > x64 > debug and release both should have similar files:
TIS_DShowLib09_x64.dll
TIS_UDSHL09_vc9_x64.dll
TIS_UDSHL09_vc9_x64.lib
TIS_UDSHL09_vc10_x64.dll
TIS_UDSHL09_vc10_x64.dll
For example I would look in C:\Users\ziah.dean\Documents\IC Imaging Control 3.2\classlib\x64\debug
and C:\Users\ziah.dean\Documents\IC Imaging Control 3.2\classlib\x64\release

3) Copy these files and paste them into the Micro-Manager directory.
4) Run the hardware configuration wizard and add TIS_cam and then continue to configure the camera. You should be able to complete configuration and run the camera from there.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Best Regards,

Ziah
