Orca Flash Output Signal

remi renaud
Hello everyone,

I work with a Hamamatsu Orca Flash 2.8. It works well with device adapter HamamatsuHam, I'm able to access to every property of the camera. I use the camera output to trigger an Arduino module. It works very well with a Photometrics Coolsnap ES² CCD camera (Arduino is trig on its readout signal).

With the Orca Flash, when I set the output as following
Output Trigger Kind => Programable;
 Output Trigger Delay => 0 (ms);
Output Trigger Period => 22 (ms);
Output Trigger Polarity => Positive

When I set the exposure time under 22 ms there's no output signal which is normal and when I set the exposure equal or above 22 ms happens the output signal. When I launch µManager, there is no output signal , and when I launch an acquisition, output signal comes. But, when I stop acquisition, the output signal don't stop.

Do you have any idea of what is going wrong with the camera or setup (or my understanding of the camera) ?

Thank you very much.

Rémi

I forwarded this issue to the programmer at Hamamatsu.  However, I suspect this is more of a hardware issue.  Interestingly, I saw the exact same issue with the PCO sCMOS camera.  You may want to contact your Hamamatsu sales person directly.  My feeling is that this is an issue that was overlooked during design and will need to be fixed with a firmware upgrade.  Could you please let us know how this resolves? This will be of interest  to anyone who plans on using an sCMOS with hardware(TTL) synchronization.

Best,

Nico
