Re: SPOT insight color camera

David Lambert
Hi Nico (or anyone else), is there any way to get a sense of how hard
it would be to fix this problem?  I need to decide whether to keep
this camera, and getting it to work with micromanager (now or in the
foreseeable future) is a major part of the decision.

Thanks!
Dave

Color Spot cameras are currently only supported on the Mac.  About a year ago, Erwin Frise made color Spot cameras work.  However, his code compiled only on the Mac, not on Windows.  We were told that Diagnostic would release a compatible SDK for Windows, but so far, that has not happened.  We were told today that a new SDK will be released in a couple of days.

It would help if you would tell your contact at Diagnostic that you only want the camera if it is supported by Micro-Manager.

Best,

Nico

Re: SPOT insight color camera

David Lambert
Thanks Nico! I talked to them, and they are saying there is no
release date for that SDK.  The  support person I talked to assumed
that what is needed is 64-bit operating system support, but is this
indeed what you need to get spot to work on  Windows?  I would like
to be as informed as possible since the the person responsible for
the SDK release is supposed to contact me.

Thanks for your help!
David

I don't think so.  What we need is an SDK that is compatible with the SDK used on the Mac.  It would be nice if that SDK also was available on 64-bit Windows, but you would already be helped with a 32-bit Windows version.
