Re: error on closing micro-manager: "Error: An uncaught exception was thrown in thread AWT-EventQueue-0"

Hoover, Karl
Hi Damon,

We recently fixed a couple of threading / object dereferencing problems that would generate this message.  Could you give the latest 1.3 build a try and see if that works better for you?

http://valelab.ucsf.edu/~MM/nightlyBuilds/1.3/Windows/MMSetup_1.3.46_20100616.exe

By the way, our e-mail system threw away your carefully prepared attachment. I think the size limit imposed by the list server is 40kB and .exe's and sometimes .zip's are thrown away by the UCSF system. 7z is a format that works for me.

Best Regards,
Karl Hoover

Subject: Re: [micro-manager-general] error on closing micro-manager

Hi folks,

Recently I started getting the following error when trying to exit
from Micro-Manager (v1.3.43):

"Error: An uncaught exception was thrown in thread AWT-EventQueue-0"

Once this comes up, I have to restart the computer to restart/reset
Micro-Manager. I'm running XP SP3 (32-bit) and as mentioned MMv1.3.43,
Cascade II 512b, Sutter Lambda 10-2 with 2 wheels & shutters, and the
ParallelPort control. I have attached the compressed CoreLog in the
hopes that it will help to make sense of the problem.

Many thanks,
Damon

Was this ever resolved?

I'm getting this error message "An uncaught exception was thrown in thread AWT-EventQueue-0" both when starting up and when trying to exit.

It seems to happen when it is trying to load configuration settings because when I try to load them from the menu it also throws that error.  Oddly, the configuration settings don't appear and the only menu items are File, ImageSD, Tools

I'm running this build: http://valelab.ucsf.edu/~MM/nightlyBuilds/1.3/Windows/MMSetup_1.3.49_20110810.exe which is the last 1.3 nightly build

Curiously enough, I don't get this error (and I get all the menu items) when I start micromanager through Matlab.

Thanks,
Scott

Correction:  Now I am getting the error even through Matlab.  Not sure why it didn't give me the error through matlab last week

1.3.48 seems to work fine.
