Re: micro-manager-general Digest, Vol 154, Issue 14

Judith Lacoste
Hi,

If the microscope was originally purchased as being part of a confocal
microscope, there is slider/shutter inside the stand which must
controlled by the AIM software.  It is a security device to be sure
the laser light never make its way to either the eyepieces or any
other ports other than the confocal head.  I own such version of
microscope stand.  I have not figured out a work around that limitation.

Best regards,

Judith

Thanks for your feedback, Judith!

I understand the safety design. But this shutter is between HAL lamp and the condenser, so it should not be a safety part. As it is part of the stand, I thought there must be a way to talk to it. I found there are ZeissTransmittedLightShutter etc in the ZeissCAN29, however, It does not seem to do the job.

Best,

Kai
