Remote Desktop

Kate Phelps-2
Is there a reason why I can't run µManager in a Remote Desktop session? All my other programs run fine.

Also, in Windows XP Professional (32-bit) users with limited accounts can't run µManager. Can this be fixed by making them Power Users or by specifically giving each user Full Control over the µManager executable?

I was trying to fix this by Remote Desktop tonight and couldn't get the program to run even from my admin account (although I know it runs for all Admins locally).

Thanks

Kate

Re: Remote Desktop

Arthur D. Edelstein
Hi Kate,

I'm not sure about the limited accounts issue, but I run Micro-Manager
over Remote Desktop frequently. What problems are you seeing in each
case?

Best regards,
Arthur

I have run micro-manager via Remote Desktop.

You need to be careful and make sure the serial ports are not from your local desktop.

Hi Arthur and Karl,

Thanks for answering. I think it is a problem with that particular
copy of µManager. I reinstalled the same build in a different folder
and it works fine.

Now I will get back to work on figuring out how to let limited users
use it locally.
