Some questions regarding the supported photometrics or Hamamatsu Cameras and a bug for Point Grey Blackfly BFLY-PGE-12A2M

Yue Shi
Hi:

I hope this email finds you well. My name is Fred and I am from New York University. My lab is in the stage of buying camera for the lab and we really would like to get one that works with micro-manager. Thus I would like to know if you guys are currently using photometrics or Hamamatsu cameras for the micro-manager. If so, could you tell me which particular models you are using? Thanks so much.

Also, I was testing the micro-manager with a point grey camera with Ethernet port lately and I found a weird bug. After the configuration, I found that there is no image coming out from the snap or live module, though all the other features (intensity, histogram) are working fine in real time. Strangely, at the same time album feature work properly and I can get real time image. And after running the live/snap feature I also cannot get any image from FlyCap2 or Spinview unless I restart the camera. I wonder if any of you have encountered the same issue? Thanks.

Best Regards,
Fred

Prime, Iris15, Evolve, QuantEM,

And they are all fine under micro-manager

We've been using a  Photometrics EMCCD (ProEM 512BX3) without issue so far.

I have also used an Orca II Flash 4 from Hamamatsu with both 1.4 and 2.0.

Did you use it with the Spinnaker or Flycap2 based MM device adapter
(Spinnaker or PointGrey)?

When I wrote the PointGrey (Flycap2) adapter, I did not test with an
ethernet-based camera, and it would not surprise me at all if things
don't work as expected.  If you can, use a USB-based camera instead.
Much cheaper than putting in the development time to fix the problems...

Best,

Nico
