Dear Micro Manager List,
We have a Photometrics Cascade 512B emCCD camera we want to use for
high speed photometry of stars. This is a low light level application
(faint stars and short integrations) where read noise must be kept low,
hence our interest in emCCD cameras. We need to control the camera for
RoI, binning, temperature, em gain, etc. It sounds like Micro Manager
should work for us. Is anyone on the list using this camera? Also,
anyone hear of anyone using Micro Manager with telescopes instead of
microscopes--I suppose this would be Macro Manager :-)
I'm not a regular list person, so perhaps replies could be directed to my
email.
Thanks in advance for any help. I've pasted in a photo of our camera
on a telescope.
Cheers, Russ

Hi Russ, It should work fine. Download it and give it a try. If you have any problems, please let me know. I have not heard of anyone using uM for Macro work, but it is commonly abbreviated MM, so I guess it could be ether ;) You could also write a device adapter for your telescope mount, that might be interesting.
