Dear all, I want to control my Cobolt Samba laser (532nm) via MM. As a matter of fact, I can add it as a new hardware. But I cannot turn it on in the properties window. It is "off" and does not let me to change it to "on". I do not receive any Error massage. Is there anyone else with this problem or solution to it. Thanks in advance, Sajjad

Hi Dan, Please read the manual or ask Cobolt about modulation feature of the laser (maybe it will work out for you to use modulation to adjust power). Unfortunately this is the only way I see it may work for you. Please find manual there: https://www.coboltlasers.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/06...

Hi Volodymyr, Thanks for your reply. That's an interesting comment... I guess I'm not sure why Cobolt would provide a constant-current mode and the ability to set current so easily through their GUI if we're not meant to change this setting. But I have a call into Cobolt and will certainly...

Looks like I did indeed change "\n" to "\r" in October of 2010 but for uManager 1.3 as seen below. uManager 1.4 was released 3 months later and that change didn't propagate to the new code base. If it is ok, I will make the change to the cobolt 1.4 uManager code base... Cheers...

I am attempting to control a Cobolt 06-01 DPL laser (561 nm) connected via USB (it automatically generates a virtual serial port upon install). I can control the laser through the Cobolt Monitor software, so I know that it is communicating properly with the computer, but I’m unable to control it...

Hi Daniel. According to my experience with Cobolt 06-series 561 laser you need time to thermally stabilize and tune TECs for crystal and LED, so manipulating of the current is definitely not a proper way to adjust the laser power. I previously used AOTFs from AA Opto Electronic to adjust laser...

Hi, I am having troubles adding a Cobolt laser to MM using the HW Wizard. Communication with the laser goes over COM3 (@115200 8N1) and is fully functional when tested with a terminal. In micromanager (v1.4.9; but I also tried v1.4.13), I use the Cobolt DeviceAdapter and systematically get...

Just for those who like blow up their computers, and fry their hard drives, I have been writing on and off again a new Skyra driver for Cobolt's new Skyra lasers, and it should be backwards compatible for the single Cobolt lasers, deprecating the old Cobolt Device Adapter. I have not tested...

Hi, I'm using a Cobolt laser with MM 1.4.21 and want to use it as shutter too. It seems to work fine with Snap and Live, but not in multi-dimensional acquisition mode (time-lapse) where it gives an error, which in the log files look like: 2015-05-29T15:37:26.780287 tid3840 [ERR,Core] Error...
